The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for Greece contains the codes for the 13 administrative regions and the monastic republic of Athos.

The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for Greece GR), the second the code for the administrative region, prefecture or monastic republic.

The current country code was last updated on November 2016.

Regions and regional divisions of Greece

In 2011 the prefectures were replaced by regional districts. In many cases they correspond to the areas of the prefectures that existed until 2010, but numerous smaller regional districts have also been created (see Political division of Greece ). The codes listed here were deleted by ISO in December 2016.
