Wokingham is a Unitary Authority and Borough in Berkshire , England. The administrative seat is the city of Wokingham ; other significant places are Earley , Finchampstead , Twyford and Woodley .
history
The local authority was founded on April 1, 1974 as Borough Wokingham and was formed from the merger of the old Borough Wokingham and the Rural District Wokingham. When the Berkshire County Council was dissolved on April 1, 1998 , the borough was given the status of a Unitary Authority .
