Derweze
Derweze , Turkmen The Gate , also known as Darvaza , is a village in Turkmenistan . It is located in the middle of the Karakum Desert , about 260 km north of Ashgabat . It has about 350 inhabitants. The Derweze area is rich in natural gas . The burning crater of Derweze was formed during an exploration .
