The Rostock Design Academy is a private and state-recognized vocational school and substitute school as well as a state-approved supplementary school in Rostock .

The school is located in a medieval warehouse at Rostock's city harbor at Strandstrasse 26. The GameDesign Department is located at Strandstrasse. 104/105. The school sponsor is ecolea | Vocational schools gGmbH based in Rostock . The managing directors are Sven Th. Olsen and Petra Pauli-Klinkel.

The Rostock Design Academy currently has 250 students.

Training courses

Training courses are offered in the fields of illustration, 3D / game design, stage and costume design and art direction / media design. The Art Direction / Media Design course offers two state qualifications as a design assistant and the IHK media designer degree. Illustrators and 3D / game designers receive the academy diploma. In terms of content, the training courses are geared towards the topics of communication , design , marketing , advertising , design , visual game design, and stage and costume design. The design academy trains specialists and young executives in the creative, stage and design industries. From the winter semester 2020, the Bachelor (BA) Communication Design will be offered in cooperation with the North University of Cooperative Education in Hamburg.

The Rostock Design Academy is the only German private school to offer stage and costume design training.
