Desmoquattro

Desmoquattro is the name of an engine series from the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati . These are liquid-cooled 90 ° V2 four-stroke engines with two overhead camshafts driven by toothed belts and 4 valves per cylinder.

The name is made up of Desmodromik and Quattro (Italian: four). The first Desmoquattro model was the Ducati 851 in 1988 . Until the end of the 1990s, only the super sports bikes from Ducati were equipped with Desmoquattro engines.
