Distilling bridge
A distillation bridge or distillation bridge is a glass apparatus that is used in chemical laboratory technology. It is used for distillation , with the distillation attachment, cooler and vent being made in one piece by the glassblower . There are many different styles of stills.
The main advantage of a distillation bridge made entirely by the glassblower “in one piece” compared to a distillation apparatus made up of separate individual parts is that this distillation bridge contains fewer potentially leaky connection points. This often allows a better vacuum to be achieved with vacuum distillation .
