Detlef Filges

Detlef Filges is a retired German professor for nuclear physics who worked as a private lecturer at Forschungszentrum Jülich .

career

Filges studied physics at the University of Mainz and received his doctorate from RWTH Aachen University in 1977 . From 1968 to 1972 he worked in nuclear technology at BBC / Krupp . He then worked at Forschungszentrum Jülich until 2004. From 1994 he was Vice Director at the Institute for Nuclear Physics.

Filge's research areas included particle, reactor and spallation physics. Together with Frank Goldenbaum he is the author of the textbook Handbook of Spallation Research , a standard work on spallation sources .
