Detlef Lehnert

Detlef Lehnert (* 1955 in Hamburg ) is a German political scientist .

Life

From 1974 to 1978 Lehnert studied political science, history and philosophy. During and after his doctorate in 1981 he worked from 1979 to 1987 as a research assistant or university assistant for historical foundations of politics at the Free University of Berlin. After obtaining his habilitation in political science and modern history in 1988/1989, he was a Heisenberg fellow and project manager at the DFG after and during stays abroad from 1989 to 1999 . Since 2001 he has been professor of political science at the Free University of Berlin . Since 2009 he has also been chairman of the Paul Löbe Foundation Weimar Democracy. He was a member of the historical commission of the SPD .
