Companies

The origins of today's company go back to the Scherpel craft bakery founded in 1901. The company has been family-owned since then and is currently run in the fourth generation by the owner Hans-Joachim Scherpel.

Under the name Malzers Backstube (formerly Malzer's Backstube ) the company operates a network of bakery branches in the Ruhr area .

The company has more than 150 branches with around 2,400 employees and 100 trainees. In 2010 the turnover was 90 million euros.

General

The quality of the baked goods is supported by the size of the company. Malzer's bakery has better opportunities for above-average employee training. Modern technology ensures consistent quality with a better energy balance. The energy-efficient production was confirmed by the " TÜV NORD , Hanover, within the scope of an audit", according to the industry magazine Backwelt in 2015. In addition, extensive quality controls and external laboratories ensure product safety.

Malzer's bakery is known for its gold rolls, 40 different types of bread and a range of cakes that changes daily. In addition, Malzers Backstube works together with the Back Bord company in order to be able to offer customers baked goods in organic quality. The snack and café area has also been expanded in recent years, so that what used to be seating has now become large cafés in almost all branches.
