from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Stage was a short-lived Berlin theater association from 1890/91.

The association was intended as a counter-foundation to the Free Stage that was established in 1889 and came into being on September 28, 1890. The main founders were the writers Michael Georg Conrad , Karl Bleibtreu and Konrad Alberti . The association was supported by Wilhelm Walloth , Hermann Bahr and Detlev von Liliencron , and at times also by Julius Hart .

The Deutsche Bühne staged a total of five plays:

  • Karl Bleibtreu: Fate
  • Adam Müller-Guttenbrunn : Irma
  • Konrad Alberti: Bread!
  • Hermann Bahr: The new people
  • Julius Hart: The swamp

On April 26, 1891, the German stage was dissolved.
