German trade press
The Association of German Trade Press was founded in 1992. He represents the interests of the specialist media providers in Germany. It is supported by the trade press in the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ), based in Berlin, and the specialist media interest group in the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels , based in Frankfurt am Main . The Deutsche Fachpresse sees itself as a modern marketing and service platform for all providers of specialist information in the professional environment. It represents around 350 member publishers in an industry with a total of around 3900 titles and a turnover of more than 3 billion euros.
tasks
The association promotes the common economic and political concerns of the members. It operates category marketing and creates contact platforms for the industry. It provides up-to-date industry knowledge through the annual trade press statistics, the advertising trend study and category marketing studies, most recently the “B2B decision maker analysis 2016/17”. Once a year, in the middle of the year, it organizes the congress of the German trade press.
From June 2012 to mid-2018, the Management Board's spokesman was Stefan Rühling ( Vogel Business Media ). Klaus Krammer from Krammer Verlag, Düsseldorf, has been the association's spokesman since May 2018 .
Award foundations
Since 2005, the association has honored the best German specialist media of the year with the specialist media of the year award . At the same time, it awards the Karl Theodor Vogel Prize of the German Trade Press - Specialist Journalist of the Year for outstanding specialist journalistic work.
