Stefan Rühling

Stefan Rühling (born November 2, 1958 ) is a German media manager. From April 2008 to January 2017 he was Chairman of the Management Board of the Vogel Business Media specialist media group .

Life

Rühling studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , the University of Montpellier and the University of Speyer . After passing the 2nd state examination in law, he held various executive positions in Germany and abroad, first at Bertelsmann , then at Springer Science + Business Media . There he was CEO of the international B2B division for building information and a member of the board. After the sale of this area to the financial investor GMT Communications Partners in 2007, he left the company. On April 1, 2008 he took over the chairmanship of the management and management of the industrial media division at Vogel Business Media.

In addition, Rühling was the spokesman for the Association of German Trade Press (from June 2012, re-election in June 2015, to be replaced in 2018). He is one of the four vice-presidents of the VDZ ( Association of German Magazine Publishers ) (elected in June 2012), one of the two deputy directors of the Association of Bavarian Magazine Publishers ( elected in May 2012) and a member of the executive committee of the Central Association of the German Advertising Industry (elected in May 2010).
