The German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine - Society for Operative, Endovascular and Preventive Vascular Medicine eV (DGG) is a medical association for vascular surgery and vascular medicine in Germany . The purpose is to represent the interests of the specialist field as well as to promote research, training, further education and training in vascular surgery and vascular medicine as well as quality assurance. The company is based in the Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus in Berlin.

history
The association was founded on December 7, 1984 as the German Society for Vascular Surgery in Munich. In 2010 the DGG was renamed the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine - Society for Operative, Endovascular and Preventive Vascular Medicine eV .

The Young Forum of the DGG was founded in 2009 and advocates the concerns of young doctors in further training in vascular surgery. It is organized in working groups that work on specific topics and issue recommendations and templates for topics related to further training, leadership, but also on the topic of pregnant doctors or the compatibility of family and work:

Work and publications
The association advocates the issues of vascular surgery in research, teaching and patient care as well as advanced and advanced training. It promotes the connection and cooperation with neighboring medical disciplines at home and abroad and fosters the exchange of experience and personal contact between vascular surgeons. The German Institute for Vascular Medical Health Research gGmbH (DIGG) was founded in 2010 to promote research in vascular surgery and research into health policy and epidemiological data .
The association has certified suitable clinics as DGG vascular centers on application since 2003 .
The association has held an annual vascular surgery conference since 1985. The so-called three-country conference has been held with the ÖGG and the SGG since 1995 and takes place every third year in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The publication organ of the DGG, together with the ÖGG and the SGG, is the specialist journal "Gefäßchirurgie".
