German self-help for the hearing impaired
The German hearing impaired self-help e. V. (DHS) is a non - profit self - help organization for the hard of hearing and the deaf .
It was initially founded as a working group of the hearing impaired self-help groups in 1987 in Berlin ; Since autumn 1998 it has been a registered association that works as a network for and with those affected.
DHS operates nationwide. Its members are individuals with and without hearing impairments and self-help groups from the hearing impairment sector. The office is based in Lautertal (Upper Franconia) .
The DHS is a member of the German Society of the Hearing Impaired - Self-Help and Professional Associations e. V. in Rendsburg .
