German Conservative Party (1945-1946)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Conservative Party was a right-wing conservative party in Germany .

The party was founded in October 1945 by former members of the DNVP . The focus of activity was Schleswig-Holstein , where Egger Rasmuss and Hermann Mertens in particular campaigned for the founding of the party. Later, Eldor Borck and Otto Schmidt-Hannover were also active in the party leadership.

In terms of content, the party turned against denazification and dismantling and advocated the rights of former NSDAP members and soldiers.

On March 22, 1946, it merged with the German Development Party (DAP) in Essen to form a new party later called the German Conservative Party - German Right Party . Since their regional associations were allowed to appear under different names, the name of the DKP was also used at times.
