from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Thomas Society was founded in 2003 in the Dominican monastery in Berlin as a society for the promotion of studies on Thomas Aquinas and Thomism in the German-speaking area. For several years it was the German-speaking subsidiary of Societas Internationalis S. Thomae Aquinatis (SITA), but SITA no longer lists DTG as a subsidiary (as of 2011).

Its president is P. Michael Dillmann OP, vice-president David Berger (as of 2006). The organ of publication is the International Thomistic Yearbook Doctor Angelicus , whose publication was discontinued with issue VI-2007. In addition, the society also publishes the works of the French Dominican R. Garrigou-Lagrange , which have been translated into German , and in 2006, together with the Dutch-Belgian sister organization, published a dictionary of Thomists .
