German building court day

The German Construction Court Day (DBGT) is an association initiated by Rolf Kniffka and headed as President since 2006. In May 2012 he was succeeded by the former judge at the Federal Court of Justice, Stefan Leupertz .

Task and organization

The German Building Court Day is the most important mouthpiece for building lawyers and building lawyers, but also building practitioners in relation to legislation. Every two years, for the first time in 2006 in Hamm , all relevant representatives of German building law meet to exchange experiences and develop resolutions that be brought to the relevant authority in the responsible Federal Ministry of Justice .

Individual personalities from the judiciary, lawyers, universities and colleges as well as the construction industry belong to the German Construction Court Day, as well as representatives of authorities and politicians.

The building court day is particularly important in the form of support from the relevant building rights associations in Germany, such as:

  • German Society for Building Law eV (President: Horst Franke)
  • ARGE Construction Law in the German Lawyers' Association (Chairman: Peter Oppler)
  • CBTR Center for German and International Building Site and Civil Engineering Law (President: Axel Wirth)
  • Institute for Construction Law Freiburg i. Br. EV (Board spokesman: Ingo Lange)
  • Chambers of Architects and Engineers
  • Construction industry associations etc.

In currently seven working groups, theses are collected, discussed and brought to a final vote. The results obtained in this way "from practice for practice" are then put into application form by the Presidium of the German Building Court Conference and forwarded to the responsible ministries - usually the Federal Ministry of Justice - along with the relevant reasons.
