The museum is supported by the Association for the Promotion of a Porcelain Museum in Münster eV The exhibition has been dealing with porcelain paintings in Münster since the middle of the 19th century. The association's collection contains over 10,000 exhibits from 150 years of porcelain painting history . The museum is visited by around 1,000 visitors every year.

The museum in Gasselstiege had to close at the end of November 2011 and has been looking for new premises since then, including the listed bunker on Lazarettstrasse .

Currently (October 2012) the museum has still not found a place and can always be found as a traveling exhibition in different rooms for a short time (telephone information from the owner, he ensures that the data on the website will be updated)
