German umbrella organization for psychotherapy

The German Umbrella Association for Psychotherapy eV ( DVP ) was founded on November 2, 2013 in Berlin and is a registered non-profit association.

The purpose of the association is to promote and ensure the quality of psychotherapeutic care for the population in prevention, treatment and aftercare and to appreciate, recognize and promote the diversity of the most diverse psychotherapeutic procedures in the sense of the Strasbourg Declaration on Psychotherapy of 1990. The DVP is a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and National Recognition Organization (NAO) for the award of the European Certificate for Psychotherapy (ECP).

As an umbrella organization, the DVP represents eleven associations (with 1,800 psychotherapeutic practitioners):

  • Blue Cross Diaconal Association
  • German Society for Psycho-Organic Analysis (DGPOA)
  • Professional Association of Academic Psychotherapists (BAPt)
  • German Academy for Psychoanalysis (DAP)
  • German Society for Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy (DGPP)
  • German Society for Transaction Analysis
  • German Psychosynthesis Society (DPG)
  • German Working Group for Concentrative Movement Therapy (KBT)
  • German Society for Body Psychotherapy (DGK)
  • German Association for Neuro-Linguistic Programming (DVNLP)
  • German Society for Logotherapy and Existential Analysis (DGLE)

The association also has a training institute as a member and 50 individual members. As the National Recognition Organization (NAO), the DVP is committed to ensuring that the training for around 2000 therapists with the ECP certificate is complied with.

According to his own statements, he represents a total of around 2500 psychotherapeutic practitioners.
