German Butchers Association
The German Butchers Association e. V. (DFV) is the umbrella organization for the butcher's trade in Germany. The 15 national guild associations of the butcher's trade are united in it.
The association is a professional organization, business association and interest group for the independent craft businesses in Germany. At the end of 2016, it stated that it had 12,797 independent master craftsmen with 21,329 stationary sales outlets. As a central trade association, it is affiliated with the Central Association of German Crafts and the Federal Association of German Crafts Associations.
The DFV was founded in Gotha in 1875 . The office is based in Frankfurt am Main .
The highest organ of the association is the Presidium. This includes the president of the DFV and four vice-presidents. The current president is Herbert Dohrmann.
