German Association of Notaries

The German Notarial Association e. V. (DNotV) is the federal umbrella association of notaries in their main profession. There are ten member clubs.

The association represents interests at national and international level and is involved in legislative projects in the field of civil and commercial law as well as the further development of notarial professional law . The lawyer notaries are not organized in the German Notarial Association, but in the Association of German Lawyers' Notaries or in the Working Group of Lawyers' Notaries in the German Lawyers' Association.

Since 1997 the association has been publishing the magazine notar - monthly for the entire notarial practice . Since May 2008 it has been published in cooperation with the Deutscher Notarverlag.

history

Today's German Notaries Association was founded in 1991, its predecessor organizations were the Notaries Association for Germany and Austria, founded in 1871, and the German Notaries Association, which has existed since 1900 . In 1933, under the chairmanship of Carl Wolpers , he joined the National Socialist German Lawyers Association (BNSDJ) with his regional associations . The Reich Chamber of Notaries was founded in 1934, and Wolpers was its sole president until 1945. Both organizations were dissolved in 1945.

Some of the member clubs can look back on over 150 years of uninterrupted club history.
