The German Polo Association eV (DPV) was founded in 1972 on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Munich and is a member of the Hurlingham Polo Association and the Federation of International Polo . It currently has 35 polo clubs with around 440 active players and 150 guest players.

The tasks of the DPV include the promotion of polo in general as well as the recognition and dissemination on the basis of the rules. Furthermore, the association represents the interests of its members and monitors the implementation of the sport in accordance with the applicable rules of the DPV and regulates all areas of national and international matches.

In Germany, the second polo world championship was held in Berlin in 1989 on the historic Maifeld . The European polo championship has already been held twice in Germany. In 2008 Aspern / Hamburg was the venue for the seventh European Polo Championship. In 2016 the DPV held the 11th European Polo Championship. The venues were Potsdam and the historic Maifeld in Berlin.

The headquarters and office of the German Polo Association are in Munich .

Bureau

The Presidium of the DPV consists of the President and the 1st and 2nd Vice-Presidents. Acting President is Oliver Winter, Vice Presidents are Steffi von Pock and Wolfgang Gabrin.

Stewards

The steward regulation is the sport commission of the DPV. She currently has 20 regular and two additionally appointed stewards. You have special knowledge of the rules. There is also a tournament statute, handicap regulations, and sports and disciplinary regulations.

Regions

Each of the four regions (north, east, west, south) has a regional manager who is the first point of contact for DPV members and clubs.
