The German Association for Project Management in the Construction and Real Estate Industry e. V. (DVP) is a professional association for project management based in Berlin .

The association was founded in 1984 by a group of experts in project management in the construction industry with the aim of expanding and qualitatively improving specialist knowledge in this area, making the results available to interested experts and, through its members, enhancing the cooperation of those involved in the construction project promote. Claus Jürgen Diederichs is one of the founders . He was 1st Chairman of the DVP from 1990 to 2004 and was awarded the title of Honorary Chairman in 2005.

Initial and continuing education

The association offers a certification program for project management in the construction and real estate industry with four certification levels.

The certification levels are:

  • DVP-ZERT project assistant in the construction and real estate industry
  • DVP-ZERT project manager in the construction and real estate industry
  • DVP-ZERT project manager professional in the construction and real estate industry
  • DVP-ZERT Senior Project Manager in the construction and real estate industry

Since 2017, the DVP has also been offering certification as a DVP-ZERT BIM project manager.

DVP meetings

The association has been organizing seminars on project management topics in the construction and real estate industry since 1985.

DVP sponsorship award

The DVP Prize is awarded annually for current work on the topics of project development and project management. The topics of the work should be innovative and economically relevant. The results of the scientific work must be practical and implementable in companies or organizations. An economic benefit is a desirable goal. The award ceremony will take place at the DVP conference.

Publications

Until 2016, the DVP had its own publishing house in which the results of the specialist committees as well as diessertations and other publications on construction project management were published. The publications of the DVP have been published by Springer Verlag since 2017.
