German seal of approval for sustainable building

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Sustainable Building Seal of Approval was jointly established by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Development ( BMVBS ) and the German Sustainable Building Council. V. (DGNB) developed evaluation system for sustainable buildings. It was comparable to other national or regional green building assessment systems that arose due to the increasing importance of environmentally friendly construction.

With the end of the first pilot phase of the German Sustainable Building Certificate , the completion of the assessment system for sustainable building was continued separately by the cooperation partners BMVBS and DGNB from 2009. This resulted in the creation of the BMVBS's Sustainable Building Assessment System for Federal Buildings (BNB) and the DGNB certification system, two independent assessment systems.

In 2015, the evaluation system for sustainable building for federal buildings (BNB) became the life cycle assessment tool for buildings eLCA , which is still in the beta phase in 2018. The last certification according to the Sustainable Building Assessment System for Federal Buildings (BNB) took place in 2015.
