from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Seminar e. V. is an organization monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution , which primarily offered a platform for predominantly right-wing extremist speakers. Walter Staffa was the chairman until his death in November 2011 . The German seminar is based in Nürtingen .

history

The German Seminar was founded on July 4th 1970 as the “German Seminar Munich-Stuttgart” in Stuttgart , among the founders were Werner Nowak and Walter Staffa from Nürtingen. It arose from the initiative of activists from the Witikobund , which temporarily dominated the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft . Werner Nowak is still the chairman of the "Sudeten German Landsmannschaft" in Baden-Württemberg. The headquarters have been in Nürtingen since 1984. In 1988, Rolf Kosiek , Nürtingen, is also on the board, Walter Staffa was chairman until his death. Both are or were also active in other right-wing extremist organizations as top functionaries and networkers (e.g. in the Witikobund, action group , German study community both, Kosiek also in the society for free journalism , the "German Circle of 1972 eV") and others).

activities

The activities of the association mainly comprised lectures with predominantly right-wing extremist speakers. An essential part of the program of the German seminar was the dissemination of a history that excludes Germany from being guilty of the Second World War and the offsetting of the National Socialist crimes with the "crimes of the victorious powers " and the expulsion of the German population between 1944 and 1948, which is typical for history revisionists . The Baden-Württemberg Minister of the Interior at that time, Thomas Schäuble , came to the following assessment in 1998: “Regardless of the harmlessly formulated purpose of the statutes (eg: ... scientific discussion of historical, constitutional ... questions to promote civic awareness, especially in the sense of the preamble of the Basic Law) pursues this German Seminar e. V. according to the findings of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution in the selection of event topics and speakers etc. a. rather the goal of seeing the reunification that took place in 1990 only as a partial unification, to question the relevant international treaties and to reduce the question of war guilt primarily to the injustice committed by the Allies. "

The last known activity of the “German Seminar” was on May 23, 2001, when it held a lecture event together with the now dissolved Cannstatter Kreis (“Immunization against left-wing seducers - attack instead of defense!”). A splinter group of the “ Young National Democrats ” was also represented with a stand.

Publications

Until 1981, the “Politische Zeitspiegel” was published monthly as the publication organ of the German Seminar. This went up in 1982 together with the “Klüter Blätter” in the “Deutsche Monatshefte” (later: Nation & Europa ). According to the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, this magazine is "one of the most important opinion-forming media for the right-wing extremist scene".
