Dhanpuri is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . The city is located in the northern part of the state.
The city is part of the Shahdol district . Dhanpuri has the status of a municipal council . The city is divided into 24 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 45,156 inhabitants, of which 23,257 were men and 21,899 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 79%.
