Diocese of Chichester
The Diocese of Chichester ( Latin : Dioecesis Cicestrensis ) is an Anglican diocese in the ecclesiastical province of Canterbury of the Church of England with its seat in Chichester . It was a Roman Catholic diocese until the English Reformation .

The Diocese of Chichester was created in 1075 when the bishopric was moved from Selsey to Chichester.
The last Roman Catholic bishop , John Christopherson , died in December 1558.
The Roman Catholic diocese of Chichester was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Canterbury as a suffragan .
