Diadochus from Photice
Diadochus von Photice (* beginning of the 5th century ; † before 486 ) was a bishop and Christian author .
Diadochus was probably born at the beginning of the 5th century. He was Bishop of Photice in Epirus (Northern Greece) and appeared in 457 as a co-signer of the letter of the bishops of Old Epirus to Emperor Leo I. In Chalcedon (451) a John is listed as Bishop of Photice, so that Diadochus took up the office later got to. He was an opponent of the Monophysites . Since his main work is aimed at coinobitic and solitary monks , it is reasonable to assume that he himself was a monk, perhaps the head of a community.
