The Diakonie-Klinikum Schwäbisch Hall is a special care hospital in Schwäbisch Hall . The hospital is an academic teaching hospital of the University of Heidelberg .

history

The house dates back to 1886 when the local deaconesses began their work. It belongs to the Evangelical Diakoniewerk Schwäbisch Hall .

In the years 1931 to 38 the "high-rise" was built.

The Diakonie Hospital is now part of the Schwäbisch Hall gGmbH health holding with the Schwäbisch Hall Diakonie Clinic and the Crailsheim Clinic . This health holding is a company of the Evangelical Diakoniewerk Schwäbisch Hall and the district of Schwäbisch Hall . The health holding has 800 beds at its two locations and employs around 1,600 people. The Evangelical Diakoniewerk Schwäbisch Hall holds 74.9% of the holding shares, the district of Schwäbisch Hall 25.1%. A merger or further cooperation with the clinics of the Hohenlohe district with the Diakonie hospital and the clinics of the Schwäbisch Hall district did not materialize in spring 2006. One of the main reasons was the dispute over the future location of a new clinic. In 2009 the Diakonische-Klinikum took over the management of the Gaildorf Clinic with a newly introduced outpatient operating theater center, and in mid-2012 the clinic withdrew.

Facility

The house has 526 beds. In 2011 it treated 22,232 inpatients. The house is divided into 22 clinics and institutes.

The Diakonie-Klinikum Schwäbisch Hall trains every year in the clinical as well as in the commercial and socio-educational area. Health and nursing care as well as health and pediatric nursing, training to become a surgical technician or in the field of laboratory and transfusion medicine, as well as a midwife / obstetrician and a medical-technical radiology assistant are offered in clinical training. The commercial and socio-pedagogical training includes training as a clerk for office communication or as an IT specialist for system integration, the Bachelor of Science at the Cooperative State University (medical informatics course) or the Bachelor of Arts at the Duale University (degree in business administration and health management) but also offers practical training as an educator.
