Dianthus cinnamomeus is a species of the genus Dianthus .

description

Dianthus cinnamomeus is a perennial subshrub . The species reaches a stature height of 15 to 30 centimeters. The stem is short downy. The chalice measures 18 millimeters. The outer sepals are pointed to tail and obverse-shaped. The petals are bare. The plates of the petals are cream-colored on the top and cinnamon-colored on the underside and each measure approx. 3 millimeters.

The flowering time is in June.

Occurrence

Dianthus cinnamomeus occurs in the Aegean Sea and Anatolia on limestone rocks and rubble.

Systematics

There are two subspecies:

  • Dianthus cinnamomeus subsp. cinnamomeus : It occurs in Turkey, Crete and the Aegean Sea. Their chromosome number is 2n = 30.
  • Dianthus cinnamomeus subsp. naxensis Runemark : It occurs in the Aegean Sea. Their chromosome number is 2n = 60.
