Diapedesis

As diapedesis refers to the leakage of blood constituents from the capillary vessels in inflammatory processes or even during proestrus in the vagina. Diapedesis is thus a form of extravasation .

A distinction is made in medicine between:

• Leakage of erythrocytes (red blood cells): erythrodiapedesis
• Leakage of leukocytes (white blood cells): Leukodiapedesis
• Leakage of liquor (blood fluid and low molecular weight proteins): liquor diapedesis
