Diapedesis
As diapedesis refers to the leakage of blood constituents from the capillary vessels in inflammatory processes or even during proestrus in the vagina. Diapedesis is thus a form of extravasation .
A distinction is made in medicine between:
- Leakage of erythrocytes (red blood cells): erythrodiapedesis
- Leakage of leukocytes (white blood cells): Leukodiapedesis
- Leakage of liquor (blood fluid and low molecular weight proteins): liquor diapedesis
