Dideba
Dideba ( German - Let it be praised , Georgian - დიდება [ dideba ]) is the title of the former Georgian national anthem . It was already in use by the First Republic of Georgia from 1918 to 1921. Because Georgia sees itself as the legal successor to this state, it was taken over in 1991. Text and melody are by Kote Pozchwerashvili .
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili commissioned a new national anthem in February 2004. It was passed by parliament in April 2004 with the title Tawisupleba .
