Didsbury is a district and borough of Manchester . The suburb, about 7 km south of the city center, has a population of over 14,000.

geography

Didsbury is crossed by the River Mersey . The settlement arose at a ford through the river. Didsbury is bordered by Withington , Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Burnage to the north, Northenden to the west, Heaton Mersey and Cheadle to the east, and Gatley to the south. Didsbury has the public parklands Fletcher Moss Botanical Garden and Didsbury Park . The Manchester Metrolink has three stops here: West Didsbury , Didsbury Village and East Didsbury

history

Didsbury was first mentioned as a hamlet in the 13th century . The place became known through the establishment of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in 1889 . Because the mosque community of Salman Ramadan Abedi, the man who committed the terrorist attack in Manchester on May 22, 2017, is located in Didsbury, the place was mentioned in the international press in 2017.
