Die Bauretter is a German docu-soap that is broadcast on RTL II . The first broadcast ran on August 9, 2011. A second season started on August 13, 2013, the third season began on June 2, 2015. The broadcast shows how architect John Kosmalla and lawyer Manuela Reibold-Rolinger as well as various craftsmen made in the region fix construction defects on single-family houses within 14 days. The reason for the dilapidation of the houses is usually the bankruptcy of the building contractor. In 2019, the program was canceled by RTL II after it had already been postponed to the late program in 2017.

content

The show begins with a tour of the family home, while the shortcomings are explained and the background to how it came about is explained. After the house inspection, John Kosmalla and Manuela Reibold-Rolinger discuss whether the family can be helped within the given time frame. They agree on which construction work is necessary and inform the family of their decision. The family then moves to temporary accommodation. The renovation begins with a second survey by John Kosmalla, who is responsible for planning and coordinating the work on the construction site. Manuela Reibold-Rolinger begins her investigation by inspecting the contract documents.

In the further course, the necessary construction measures are implemented with the support of craftsmen from the region, and the lawyer contacts the companies previously involved in the construction and their lawyers in order to get an overview of the legal starting position. It then tries to get the previous contractor to actively participate or, if that is not possible, at least to reach an amicable agreement with the client.

At the end of the broadcast, a balance is drawn up on what has changed compared to the initial situation, and the family returns to their house as part of a reception with the craftsmen involved in the renovation. Afterwards, the family is shown the results of the renovation work on a tour.
