The Blömcher, formerly Blom un Blömcher are a music group known from the Cologne Carnival .

Band history

Blom un Blömcher was originally founded as a duet under the name Blom un Blömche by the brothers Jürgen and Hannes Blum in 1970. The first appearance was on the evening before the regulars' table Cologne Carnivalists . When Jürgen Blum had to leave the duet for professional reasons in 1978, Hannes tried to keep Blom un Blömcher alive. He was supported by Wolfgang Vaupel and the then 15-year-old Walter Trebst. In the course of the redesign of the concept and the addition of two new members, the name was changed to Blom un Blömcher .

In October 1979 the new group made their first appearance. The group has been involved in the Laughing Sports Hall and the current Laughing Cologne Arena since 1980 . In 1986 the group won the bronze Oscar of the Cologne Express .

In 1998 Hannes son "Oly" Blum took over the role of guitarist and has been with his father ever since. There was another change in 2011 when the previous keyboardist was replaced by Bernd Kreuz. Blom un Blömcher got the last addition in 2015 with Christoph Freier, who sits on the drums.

The band has been known in the Cologne Carnival for decades and also performs in the surrounding area. The most famous song of the group is Ov de Hohn bes or Hahn (It doesn't matter) , which was released on various CDs. Since a Höhner hit in 1974, the hit has also been  texted with shit ejal, whether do mockery bess or Hahn and was among other things the victim of an even more crude version of Die 3 Besoffskis .

In early 2016, the group was renamed Die Blömcher .
