Die Bombe was an Austrian humorous - satirical weekly newspaper . It was published in Vienna between 1871 and 1925.

The first editor was Joseph Braun, followed by Karl L. Nekam. Isidor Fuchs and the draftsmen László von Frecskay and Hugo Gerard Ströhl were among the employees .

The bomb developed a number of standing figures such as the “General Schlepp von Schleppsäbel”, “Schani Wuzelfellner” or the communist caricature “Der Doppelkümmel-Petroleur”. Pointed social and political satire was only found in the bomb at the beginning of its existence. Gradually, the theater and operetta world moved into the focus of the humorous representations, which eventually slipped into cheap eroticism .
