Twelve people swap their usual city life for life in the country for 10 weeks. In addition to running the farm, the candidates also have to solve a weekly task in order to earn coins to buy luxury goods. There is one farmer of the week who is the head of the farm for this period. In the first two weeks, this was chosen by the candidates in an open vote. Every week there is a duel between two of the candidates in which the loser has to leave the farm. The first duelist is chosen in an open vote. He then selects a second same-sex duelist who may determine the type of duel (ax throwing, milking, tug of war, knowledge or sawing). The retired candidate specifies the new farmer of the week in a farewell letter. At the end of the day, the farmer of the year is chosen who leaves the show as the winner with a total prize money of EUR 50,000.
