Generation Ottilie is a biographical musical about Ottilie von Faber-Castell , which is played at the original location in the castle Faber-Castell in Stein. It is a production of the ACT Center Nuremberg (Academy for Musicals) with the support of Faber-Castell Event GmbH. The world premiere took place on November 23, 2018.

The music is by Matthias Lange (composer and musical director of the Cadolzburg Castle Festival, among others ) and the book by Rebecca Brinkmann (graduate of the ACT Center Nuremberg). Directed by Philipp Bissinger-Strieffler. The choreographer is Susa Riesinger. The headmistress of the ACT Center Nürnberg Luna Mittig was responsible for the production management and the costume design.

The musical tells the story of the AW Faber-Castell pencil factory, starting with Lothar Faber . The main focus is on his granddaughter Ottilie von Faber-Castell. With the marriage of the young Ottilie to Alexander von Castell-Rüdenhausen , a new chapter in the family history begins. The storyline is led through an interview between the characters Klara Röder and a reporter. The former Castellanin gave various interviews that served as the basis for the libretto. The piece was created in close collaboration with the Faber-Castell archive.
