Die Höhle - Zeitschrift für Karst- und Höhlenkunde is a publication of the Association of Austrian Cave Researchers and the Association of German Cave and Karst Researchers .

history

The cave appeared for the first time in 1950, immediately after the founding of the Austrian umbrella association, whose agenda for the founding meeting already included the publication of a specialist journal. As early as 1954, when the preliminary talks about the establishment of the later Association of German Cave and Karst Researchers were being held in Germany, the joint edition was discussed and later realized. Since the beginning it has appeared with four issues per year , from 2004 these have been combined into one issue that appears in A4 format in color . It contains scientific papers that are peer-reviewed by two experts; the research section contains reports on new research in caves, with pictures and plans. In addition, the series “Scientific supplements to the journal Die Höhle ”, 60 of which have appeared so far (as of 2016), has been published for printing more extensive work and documentation .
