The first season of the German show Die Höhle der Löwen could be seen from August 19 to October 14, 2014 on the German free TV broadcaster VOX . Ermias Habtu took over the moderation . Lencke Steiner , Judith Williams , Vural Öger , Jochen Schweizer and Frank Thelen were selected as “lions” .

Due to the above-average audience ratings, VOX extended the first season at short notice by a ninth episode, which consisted of the reunion of companies from the first episodes as well as four new start-ups.

2.5 It was not clear in the program what Hilgers is looking for an investment for.
3.1Capital requirement consisting of € 100,000 each for setting up another restaurant and a franchise company. The founders offer a 15% profit share in the first year from the restaurant operation, which increases by a further 5% each year until the investment is reached. Then the profit sharing drops to a permanent 5%. 40% of the sales proceeds are to be paid out from the franchise company.
6.2 Bobke offers the Lions a 10 percent revenue share.
6.7 The then 67-year-old wanted to sell his company because of his health.
7.4 Schlappkohl-Berlitz wanted to sell his company, but to secure a 7 percent share in sales.
8.2Bol und Greuel offers a revenue share of € 2 per item sold. Öger, Thelen and Williams offer to found a new GmbH in which they hold 50 percent of the shares. For each product sold, € 1 should flow to the three lions until the investment is paid off.
9.2 The founders of Ice2go want to have the product marketed by a lion and, in return, secure license costs of € 20,000 per year.
9.3 Wilkening and Fendel offered a 20% share in sales for the capital requirement of € 70,000.
