The Youth of the Red Corsair (La Jeunesse de Barbe-Rouge) is a Franco-Belgian comic series published between 1996 and 2001 .

It tells of the rise of the young Jean-Baptiste Cornic from Saint-Malo to the dreaded red corsair.

Jean-Michel Charlier published two short stories in pocket book format with Victor Hubinon about earlier adventures of the red corsair between 1968 and 1969. Based on these short stories and the series The Red Corsair, Christian Perrissin wrote the whole prehistory drawn by Daniel Redondo.
