Die Lyra was an Austrian magazine that appeared in Leipzig and Vienna between 1877 and 1909 . It came out twice a month and ran first the title addition Wiener Allgemeine Zeitung for the literary and musical world , then Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstzeitschrift, for music and poetry . In 1881 the Bohemian-Austrian writer Anton August Naaf took over the newspaper. The editorial office was at Herbeckstrasse 52 in Vienna. After it was discontinued in 1909, the newspaper became part of the German Singers' Association newspaper .

The Lyra-Chorverlag continued to exist and was taken over by Marianne Naaf-Eggerberg in 1918 .
