The Reimanns - An Extraordinary Life is a German documentary soap that is broadcast on RTL II and reports about the German entrepreneur Konny Reimann and his family, who emigrated to the USA .
concept
The program revolves around the experiences of Konny Reimann, his wife Manuela and their two children Janina and Jason, their dog Phoebie and parrot Erwin. In order to live the American Dream , the family emigrated to the United States . At first the family lived in the small town of Gainesville , Texas , later Konny and his wife moved to Hawaii on the island of O'ahu . They own a spacious property there called "Konny Island", where they are accompanied in their daily lives by the RTL 2 camera team.
The focus is on the various projects that Konny and Manu have planned and carried out over the years, such as the construction of a large residential house with a lighthouse on a small lake as well as a "harbor pub" and several guest houses on their property in Texas, the conversion of one Greyhound buses in a mobile home, the construction of a “jungle bar” and a hanging terrace with a whirlpool on their premises on O'ahu or the opening of a “bus boutique” by Manu. In addition, the complete integration of their children into American society is documented, such as the wedding of their daughter Janina and the birth and upbringing of the children of son Jason. Occasionally, the film team accompanies the Reimanns on their travels, such as on their motorhome trips through the USA, Europe and Australia or visiting the neighboring islands of O'ahu, which always contain a certain amount of adventure and thrills due to Konny's capers. The series received a new impetus from the birth of Janina's and husband Coleman's son and their move from Texas to Washington state near Portland in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.

The television series was produced by Constantin Entertainment in 2013–2019 , and then by just5media GmbH . The first episode was broadcast on December 23, 2013 on RTL II. So far, 66 episodes have been produced in 14 seasons. A Brazil special aired on June 9, 2014. The 14th season has aired since March 23, 2020.
