The star - magazine for all areas of astronomy was in 1921 by Robert Henseling (1883 to 1964) as the newsletter of the Federation of astronomers based in Stuttgart and published by Potsdam from 1,923th From the 6th year (1926) to the last independent issue 6/1996, the journal was published by Johann Ambrosius Barth Verlag , Leipzig / Heidelberg / Berlin. After 75 years, Die Sterne was merged with the monthly magazine Sterne und Weltraum , also published monthly in Heidelberg, on January 1st, 1997 and lost its name. As early as 1927, Die Sterne for its part integrated the Sirius magazine - a round-up of all star research for friends of celestial studies and specialist astronomers .
