The journal Die Strasse had been the journalistic organ of the General Inspector for German Roads since 1934 . It appeared twice a month, printed on glossy paper and richly illustrated, by the Volk und Reich Verlag in Berlin . The chief editor was Friedrich Heiss . Other employees were, in addition to numerous foreign authors, u. a. Paul Bonatz and Alwin Seifert .
