The fireproof American house
The new economic policy has brought about fertility. Houses are springing up like mushrooms. A certain Pavel Fyodorowitsch Petrov had founded a housing association. His Incombustible House project had met with approval. Petrov himself moved into his brand new home on April 5, with his wife and newborn twins. When the new building was already on fire on Easter Sunday, April 19, due to a short circuit in the attic, the local fire department thought his emergency call was a bad joke. Petrov kept talking on the phone until the line burned out.
The false Demetrius Lunacharsky
The mayor has surrounded himself with a gate like the one around the Karl Liebknecht monument in Blagodatsk . Presumably because he has broken away from the crowd, he is replaced by a young man - allegedly a brother of Lunacharsky . Annoying - Dmitri Wassiljewitsch Lunacharsky had his papers and suitcase stolen on his way from Moscow. The loss triggers a high willingness to donate among the Blagodatsk officials. 222 rubles, valuables and groceries are given. No wonder - the new guy writes approved under every application . However, the hopeful new man remains missing on his inspection trip to Krasnoyomsk.
The stupid wankin
Union boss Isidor Wankin enforces the October baptism of two newborn girls - children of workers Marja and Darja - with the first names Barrikada and Bebelina. When the mothers cry, Wankin turns to Messalina and Pestelina. The union intervenes; suggests the lovely names Rosa and Klara. On the occasion of the christening of the “working babies”, Wankin presents a suitable musical framework. In memory of a namesake of one of the baptized, the funeral march Immortal Sacrifice is intoned. Thereupon the little Rosa dies verifiably of a febrile illness. All Blagodatsk trade unionists believe, however, that Wankin sang the toddler with his march to death.
