The World's Most Terrifying Crimes - Australia (Original title: Crimes That Shook Australia ) is a British - Australian crime thriller - documentary series that premiered on the Australian channel Crime + Investigation Network Australia on April 16, 2014 . The German-language first broadcast has been on the German broadcaster Kabel eins Doku since December 13, 2017 .

The ten-part third season aired from February 18 to April 22, 2018. It was moderated for the first time by Matt Doran.

concept

The documentary series deals with one criminal case per episode that took place in Australia. The last days of the crimes are re-enacted from the perspective of perpetrators and victims. This is done, among other things, with the help of testimonies from witnesses and victims as well as interviews with the responsible investigators and forensic doctors; Original recordings are also used.

It is an offshoot of the documentary series Crimes That Shook Britain ( English for crimes that shake Britain ), which has been broadcast on the British station Crime + Investigation Network UK since September 2008 . The show is since 2013 by the British company Title Role Productions for the TV - Network Crime & Investigation Network (United Kingdom) and for the pay-TV -Anbieter Foxtel produced (Australia).

It was first broadcast on April 16, 2014 on the Australian television station Crime & Investigation Network Australia . So far, 14 episodes have been broadcast in two seasons. The German-language first broadcast of eight episodes took place from December 13, 2017 to January 31, 2018 on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on the German television station Kabel Eins Doku . However, Kabel eins Doku uses a different sequence of episodes.
