The silent brotherhood

The silent brotherhood ( Spanish La Hermandad de la Sábana Santa ) is a historical crime thriller by the Spanish author Julia Navarro , in which two secret societies fight by all means for possession of a well-known relic (the Turin Shroud ).

After an arson attack on the Duomo di San Giovanni cathedral in Turin , a body is found whose tongue was amputated while he was still alive . This brings Commissioner Marco Valoni's interest to the case. In the course of his investigation he comes across the perpetrators of the crime: a Templar order and a secret society of early Christians , the guardians of the real shroud. To prevent them from revealing the place where the cloth is hidden, they voluntarily had their tongue amputated.
