Diego Alessi (born November 3, 1971 in Rome , Italy ) is an Italian racing driver .

Career

Alessi competed in the Italian Touring Car Championship from 1996 to 1999 and from 2001 to 2002 . He finished the 1999 season in third place in the overall standings. From 2003 to 2005 he competed in the Maserati Trofeo . In the FIA GT3 European Championship , Alessi drove an Aston Martin DBRS9 (BMS Scuderia Italia), a Corvette Z06 GT3 (Marc Sourd Racing) and a Ferrari 430 Scuderia (Chad Racing) from 2006 to 2010.

In the 2011 season, Alessi drove his first season in the ADAC GT Masters. At the side of Daniel Keilwitz , he drove a Corvette Z06.R GT3 from Callaway Competition . His teammates included Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Sven Hannawald , who both shared a Corvette. In 2013 Alessi won the drivers' championship.
