Daniel Keilwitz (born August 3, 1989 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a German racing driver .

Career

Keilwitz started in the MINI Challenge from 2007 to 2009 and finished the 2007 season in eleventh place, the 2008 and 2009 seasons in fifth position. In 2009 Daniel celebrated a podium with his Ascari in his guest appearance in the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring . In 2010 he drove a Corvette from Callaway Competition in the FIA GT3 European Championship and ended his debut year as European Champion. He scored 183 out of 300 possible points and 8 podiums in 12 races. At Silverstone , Le Castellet and Portimão he celebrated a total of 4 race victories together with Christian Hohenadel . In the 2011 season , Keilwitz drives his first full season in the ADAC GT Masters. At the side of Diego Alessi , he drives a Corvette Z06.R GT3 from Callaway Competition. His teammates include Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Sven Hannawald , who both share a Corvette. At the season opener in Oschersleben , Daniel Keilwitz and Diego Alessi together finished second (1st race) and fourth (2nd race). A sixth place on the Nürburgring followed. At the race weekend at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz , Keilwitz and Alessi took second place in Saturday's race. He achieved his first pole position in the race on Sunday . Retired from the race after a collision at the start. After the twelfth race, Keilwitz and Alessi took eleventh place in the overall standings. In 2011, Keilwitz also took part in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring . Together with Tobias Guttroff, Yannick Fübrich and Joachim Kiesch he drove the Corvette C6 GT4 to 23rd place in the overall standings and 2nd place in the SP8 class.
